It has been brought to our attention that the choice of venue and timing of the supporters club AGM has been the subject of a thread on a club message board.
The supporters club membership and financial year runs from 1st June to 31 May. The constitution states that "The Annual General Meeting must be held as soon as possible after the end of the supporter’s club membership and financial year (31st May)...". In practice that means the AGM should be held sometime in June. Four of the seven committee members have work commitments and one is on holiday for the middle two weeks of June. The committee concluded that the earliest we could convene would be 23 June. Supporters will no doubt be aware that the social club is undergoing refurbishment commencing 5 June for three weeks so we would be unable to use the social club on this date. It was therefore decided that the Acorn (only 1/2 mile from the football club) would be a suitable alternative.
Today is the first day of the supporters club membership and financial year and subscriptions for the 2008/2009 season are now due. Membership application forms will be sent out shortly. Please note membership cards and badges will not be sent out until late June/early July.
The Annual General Meeting of Nuneaton Borough Supporters Club will take place in the Acorn on Horeston Grange on Monday 23 June 2008 at 7.30pm. Please attend if you can as during this meeting the committee and its officers will be elected. Members are reminded that the supporter’s club constitution contains committee member and officer nomination forms and the proposal for constitutional change form. Congratulations to Alan Shatford from Market Harborough who has won the 2007/2008 season Champions Challenge. Manchester United, West Bromwich Albion, Nottingham Forest, Peterborough United, Exeter City, Southport & Havant & Waterlooville scored Alan 146 points to win the £100 prize. Only ten points separate the top seven; Alan Shatford leads the competition on 140 points with Mark & Stephen Orchard in second and third places respectively on 137 points and 136 points. The winner will be announced as soon as possible after the end of the season.
Everyone enjoyed the tour of Wembley Stadium yesterday. Please email the secretary with your photos as we hope to assemble a collection to make available to members.
Paul Douglas returns to the boro social club as Elton John. The all-ticket event includes a buffet and transport if required. Tickets are available from the football club office priced at £10.
The Wembley Stadium tour is now full. Places are only confirmed when paid for in full so those who have not yet paid should do so as soon as possible.

Everyone enjoyed our annual trip to the skydome to see the Coventry Blaze in action against the Belfast Giants. Despite Coventry's defeat the game was as always thoroughly entertaining.
The blue Santa hats available from the football club are free to supporter’s club members. Please collect it from the club office or shop. Wear it with pride on Boxing Day against Hinckley!
In December we are again visiting the Skydome to see the Coventry Blaze in action against the Belfast Giants and in February you can experience the new Wembley Stadium with a fantastic 90-minute tour. For more information click Future events.
Prize draw tickets are now available from the football club office priced at 20 pence each or £1 per book. First prize is a wide screen television, second prize is a dinner service and third prize is a meal for three with Graham Wilson. There are many other festive prizes to be won.

Following decisions made at the Conference AGM, Boston United have been demoted to the Conference North and Altrincham will remain in the Conference National.
During the 2006/2007 season the supporters club raised £27,224.47. The balance sheets for the season will be available at the AGM. Members may request a copy in advance from the secretary.
